Richardson Masonic Lodge Honors Modern-Day Heroes

In keeping with tradition, the Richardson Masonic Lodge honored the red and the blue, on the morning of March 18, 2018. More than 30 firefighters and police officers stopped by the Lodge to enjoy a hearty breakfast, of bacon, eggs, hot coffee, and the trimmings, prepared for them by Lodge members and volunteers.

Members of the Richardson DeMolay Chapter, comprised of boys in their teens, helped out by welcoming our honored guests, serving them food, and cleaning up, afterwards. This event provided a rare occasion for these boys to visit with true, modern-day heroes―who provide incalculable service to our community―get to know them as individuals, and revel in the technology used by these first responders.

Freemasonry teaches many valuable lessons, one of which is the importance of selflessly serving others in our community. When our Lodge members can formally recognize and thank these public servants, who have community service down to a fine art, it is a good day, indeed. Thank you, to all first-responders, who put their lives on the line every day, to save the lives of others!
