Early, on a chilly and windy Saturday morning, Richardson DeMolay traveled to Texas Motor Speedway, in north Fort Worth, to set up tents, chow down on breakfast burritos, and spend the day serving as crossing guards for throngs of visitors transiting Victory Circle, on their way to and from the mile-long race track. During the race the Richardson DeMolay boys were able to see the NASCAR racers make several left turn before returning to theirs duties. Those present on Saturday included Dylan Bollig and his mom, Lisa Toner, Daniel Brayne, Philip Eyre, Chris Stevens and his dad, Garry Stevens, DeMolay Prospect Ryan Triolet, and Dads Chip and Lynn Little, Mom Little, and Dad Winship (11 Richardson Chapter workers), along with District Governor Ben Wilson and his wife, Diane. Our work day ended at 4:30 pm.
A new crew arrived at Texas Motor Speedway at 6:00 am on Sunday morning, April 9, to face winds so strong that they blew down and destroyed all three tents. This crew also served as crossing guards for Victory Circle at the entrance/exit to the race track area. The boys again visited the race track to watch the race in the middle of the day. This crew included Dylan Bollig and his mom, Lisa Toner, Reese Johnson and his parents, Bill Johnson and Mom Alicia Freeman, Ethan Medley, Ian Patrick, Chris Stevens and his dad, Garry Stevens, plus Dads Chip and Lynn Little, Mom Little, and Dad Winship (13 Richardson Chapter workers), along with District Governor Ben Wilson and his wife, Diane. This day, we worked until 6:30 pm. The earnings will be shared by all the workers, to be used to fund trips to Texas DeMolay State events. A good time was had by all!
