Richard Martin Gilman
Richard was raised in Pentagon Lodge in Dallas on September 21, 1965. His 1st office was Tiler in Kauai Lodge # 589 in Lihue, Hawaii. He is Thrice Past Master: Knox-Corinthian # 851 (2004-05), Eagle # 41 (2010-11), and Pentagon # 1080 (2013-14.) He joined Dallas Scottish Rite on June 17, 1967 and is currently serving on the S.R. Scholarship Committee. He served as President of the Richardson Scottish Rite Club in 1998 & still serves as ad hoc
‘bottle-washer.’ He joined Hella Shrine Temple in 1967, later transferring to Aloha Temple where he served as an Ambassador in 1990. He was President of the Richardson Shrine Club in 1984.
Richard is also very active in community service organizations, serving as Club President of Richardson Central Rotary and Prestonwood Rotary and serving as Rotary District Governor for the 65 clubs in the eight counties surrounding Dallas. He is also
the 2015-16 President of the Richardson Exchange Club.
He and his wife Rozelle are Dallas natives graduating from Hillcrest High School, and they are both lifelong educators having met while teaching in the Plano ISD. They currently teach Religious School at Temple Emanu-El – Dallas, and she teaches Theatre at Collin College in Frisco while he serves on the faculty of University of North Texas as a student teacher supervisor.
They have 3 grown UT Longhorns and 2 grand-daughters.
